Im going to watch this on saturday/sunday with a couple of friends. One thing im curious about, i know that there is a older version of king kong. Anyone know what king kong's story is about? I see that on the movie trailer, hes both on an island and in the city.

I think they find him on the island and take him back to the city or something.

I don't see what the big deal is, it looks a bit boring.

it is supposedly exactly like the old king kong back from way back when (60s i think). the only differences is taht its sharper shot w/ better images since we have CGI and such but its suppose to be exactly like the old one.

Actress Fay Wray (b.1907) died on August 8. Although Wray had a career spanning decades, she is best known for her role as Ann Darrow in the 1933 film King Kong

Try 1933.

There have been several movies about King Kong, but this one is based on the original 1933 movie. A producer/showman goes to an island to shoot his new big movie. I don't want to give away the whole plot, but the film crew runs into trouble when they discover the island is inhabited by large prehistoric creatures and natives who worship them. After some adventures with this lot, they catch the gorilla, King Kong and take him back to America so they can make money by charging people to see him. He breaks loose in NYC and causes havoc.

There's some more, but I don't want to give it all away.

It is based of the 1933 movie King Kong which is the original. Peter Jackson keeps most of the characters and plots in tact, but his remake shows more of the beauty and the beast type relationship and how tragic this story is.

Also the original was roughly an hour and a half, while this remake is seven minutes over three hours.
